Barbara approaches jewelry design with a playful attitude and exacting craft. From fitting ring sets together like pieces of a puzzle to doodling with gold wire, she loves to create whimsical, wearable jewelry. She often gathers ideas from natural elements, such as the grape vine evident in her squiggle pendant, or a form borrowed from a worn seashell as found in her pearl earrings, Pleasant surprises such as diamonds tucked into the ends of gold wire delight the eye and remind you of pleasant surprises found in a close examination of the natural world.
Barbara received her degree in fine arts from Bowling Green State University, where several of her award winning pieces are in the permanent collection. In 1995 the American Gem trade Association recognized her with its Spectrum Award for her squiggle necklace. In 1998 she was awarded a JCK Retail Design Competition Award for her spiral pearl earrings and in 2001 she was one of the Saul Bell Design Award Competition winners. Today Barbara continues to expand her line of beautifully designed, moderately priced jewelry.
